American Technical Fabricators, LLC is proud to announce the addition of Bruce Grubba to their sales and marketing team, effective October 05, 2009.   

Mr. Grubba will assume the role of Sales Account Manager and will be responsible for the company’s local and regional sales efforts, as well as internet sales initiatives. 

Prior to joining ATF, Bruce held various sales, customer service, and management positions with major companies throughout the Southeast and Central Michigan areas.  His previous experience in sheet metal fabricating, specialty manufacturing, and manufacturing process development provides an outstanding platform that will allow the company to continue its current successful customer relationships, build new vertical markets, and strengthen its position to expand through sales and acquisitions.  Mr. Grubba is a graduate of The University of Michigan, and holds degrees in Industrial Design and Business Administration.

American Technical Fabricators announces Expanded Services Offering

      American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that they have begun the installation of two new pieces of equipment designed to expand their capabilities, capacity, and service offerings.  

A new State-of-the-Art Sand-Blasting System is expected to begin operation by the end of the month to support the company’s growing powder-coat painting business.  This new equipment will more than double the existing capacity for material preparation.  The existing paint department features over 2,500 sq/ft of paint production area, as well as over-sized ovens and spray booths to accommodate small - large runs, special projects, or over-sized material.   

Additionally, the company is expected to receive an improved and larger capacity sheet metal rolling machine from GMC by October 15, 2008.  The new forming machine will further the company’s service offerings by expanding its roll-forming, wire bending, and cone-forming capabilities.

 American Technical Fabricators announces the creation of new positions

      American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that they have created the new position of Quality Inspector and Materials Handling.  This new position is part of the previously announced company strategy for growth in 2008 and will report directly to the Production Manager.

    Also announced today was the creation of an Engineering Internship Program with Baker College.  Through this ongoing program students will receive a 10 week intensive introduction to Mechanical Engineering principles as applied by the company in its wide assortment of proprietary product offerings, as well as in coordination with key customers via manufacturing contracts.  The company views this as the first step in helping to rebuild the Southeast Michigan economic area, and expose a new generation of professional and skilled workers to industries other than automotive.

 

December 20, 2007 

American Technical Fabricators announces plans for growth

      American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that they have successfully achieved their business goals for 2007.  In addition to this announcement, the company also announced plans for expansion in 2008 and 2009.  The company will expand their personnel in the areas of marketing and engineering in 2008, as well as aggressively pursue opportunities for regional business acquisitions.  The company also announced capital investment plans for new fabrication and painting equipment over the next 18 months.

Completion of the New “State of the Art” Paint Department

      American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that they have completed the installation of a new State of the Art powder coat paint system in their Bad Axe, MI facility.  The new department features over 2,500 sq/ft of paint production area, as well as over-sized ovens and spray booths to accommodate large runs, or over-sized material.  The company’s new equipment is the largest in the “thumb” geographic area of Michigan with over 1400 cubic feet of oven area.  The company plans to support its current customers and product lines with the new equipment, as well as proactively market the service to other companies by the end of the year.

 

June 1, 2007    New “State of the Art” Paint Department

     American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that they have begun the installation of a new “State of the Art” powder coat paint system in their Bad Axe, MI facility.  The new department will feature over 2,500 sq/ft of paint production area, as well as over-sized ovens and spray booths to accommodate large runs, or over-sized material.  The company’s new equipment will be the largest and most advanced in the “thumb” geographic area of Michigan.  Full operation of the new department is expected in August of 2007.

 

March 8, 2007     New Project with Intellipack

     American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that they have been chosen by Intellipack, located in Oklahoma, as the exclusive housing fabricator for their new SmartShot™ system.  Under the contract ATF will deliver more than 50 units over a 60 day period of time.  Additional quantities are expected throughout the year based on sales order expectations. The company was selected by Intellipack because of its extensive history and expertise in design and fabrication, as well as its attention to detail and capacity.

 

March 8, 2007     Multi-Year Contract with SMART

     American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that they have been awarded a 5 year contract for the maintenance and manufacture of destination signs, supports, and control systems for SMART (Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation), based in Metropolitan Detroit. The company was selected by SMART because of its extensive history with Vultron and its expertise in vehicular destination sign systems.

 

March 7, 2007    Contract to build Construction Trailer Signs

     American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that they have extended their contract with ADDCO, a leading national supplier of Intelligent Construction Trailer Systems.  Under the new agreement the company will provide 64 VMS Signs over a 14 month period.  The company has a long-standing relationship with ADDCO and was selected because of its extensive history and expertise in electronic sign systems as well as its attention to detail and capacity.

 

March 7, 2007  Contract with Adaptive Micro Systems 

     American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that they have entered into a strategic contract with Adaptive Micro Systems of Wisconsin to fabricate, assemble and deliver 45 large Intelligent Transportation System Walk-in VMS signs for use in Florida.  The project is scheduled to last for remainder of 2007 and may be extended into 2008.  Adaptive Micro Systems, a leading international supplier of LED sign systems selected the company because of its extensive history and expertise in electronic sign systems as well as its attention to detail and capacity.

 

January 16, 2007   Long-term Vultron Product Support 

     American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that the company has secured all of the remaining assets necessary to continue to support the former Vultron customer-base, and product line for 5 additional years.   

    Vultron, an electronic sign manufacturer for over 40 years, closed it’s operations in July, 2006 after an unsuccessful attempt to exit bankruptcy proceedings.  American Technical Fabricators, owned by former Vultron employees, purchased virtually all of the assets of the company over the last 6 months.  The company has vowed to continue to support the existing Vultron customer base through new products, replacement products, factory repairs, field repairs, and component sales.    

    All former Vultron customers that have questions, or need assistance, are urged to call 989-269-6262 for continued sales and support.

January 15, 2007   New Inter-Power Project 

     American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that the company will begin building industrial equipment and machines for the Inter-Power Corporation.   

    Inter-Power is an industry leading supplier of Heat-treating systems for the automotive and manufacturing markets.  The new products from ATF, LLC will integrate into the company’s existing product offerings. 

    The first group of machines will leave the ATF, LLC facilities in March, with additional volumes approximately every 60 days thereafter

Veterans Hospital Project Completion

      American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that they have delivered a large-scale, full-color marquee sign system to StanCo, Inc. of California.  The system, which will utilize a wireless communications protocol, will be the first company installation for the Veterans Administration and will be located in Phoenix, AZ.  The company was selected by StanCo and the VA because of its extensive history and expertise in electronic sign systems as well as its attention to detail and capacity.

American Technical Fabricators announces Avis Rent-a-Car Project Initiation

      American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that they have been selected to provide the national support and service for all of the Preferred Customer Electronic Sign Systems for Avis Rent-a-Car.  The project is anticipated to extend more than 18 months.

The company was selected because of its extensive history and expertise in electronic sign systems as well as its attention to detail and capacity.

American Technical Fabricators announces United Airlines Project Initiation 

     American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced that they have been selected to refurbish 50 Electronic Flight Information Displays Signs (EFIDS) for United Airlines.  The company was selected because of its extensive history and expertise in electronic sign systems as well as its attention to detail and capacity.

Company officials plan to complete the project sometime in November.

Key Ownership Change / Management Addition

     American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced the addition of Bob Lemmen to the company’s ownership and their Senior Management Team. 

    Mr. Lemmen will assume the role of Executive Vice President and will provide direction for the company’s sales and marketing programs.  Additionally, he will participate as a key administrator in the strategic initiatives of the company. 

    Prior to join American Technical Fabricators, LLC Mr. Lemmen held the positions of Director of Operations and Director of Sales and Marketing for Vultron, Incorporated.

January 2006 –

4 employees travel to Wisconsin to take part in Adaptive Microsystems Eclipse Sales Training.

Training was held at Adaptive Microsystems in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 24th and 25th to train distributors on how to sell Adaptive Microsystems Eclipse style products. Along with sales techniques, they also trained on how to program and send messages in various ways and styles as well as installation procedures. This training put us miles ahead of the competition not only on selling product but in the type of customer service we can provide. On completion of these classes certificates of achievement were given.

December 2005 –

American Technical Fabricators became a distributor for Adaptive Microsystems.

      Adaptive Microsystems awarded American Technical Fabricators the rights to become a full time distributor for all of their sign products and will hold training classes for all distributors to insure that all distributors are up to date on all current products and information in order to provide the best possible service available. These classes will be held in January

September 2005 –

American Technical Fabricators won the bid to manufacture the “Walk in housings” from Adaptive Microsystems.

In January, the first Walk – In was installed on Highway 180 in El Paso, Texas with 3 more signs to follow. These signs are designed to give information to drivers about traffic conditions, congestion and delays as well as Amber Alerts.

August 18, 2006

      American Technical Fabricators, LLC today announced the purchase of certain key Vultron, Inc. assets and inventory. 

    Vultron, a subsidiary of Trans-Industries, Inc. a key supplier of Electronic Highway Signs, Transit Destination Signs, and Commercial LED/LCD Sign Systems ceased business operations in July, 2006 under a federally approved bankruptcy order.  Under this order all assets of Vultron were to be liquidated. 

    American Technical Fabricators, agreed to purchase all manufacturing equipment, tooling, molds, service test and diagnostic equipment, key IT hardware, furniture, heavy-duty vehicles, and key inventory.

    With the completion of this transaction in August, the company plans to support the former and existing Vultron customer-base with independent, interchangeable parts and components, repair services, and technical support services.  The interchangeable components will be added to the company’s existing product and service offers in order to develop a turn-key solution to the electronic sign marketplace.

 

July 2005 –

American Technical Fabricators, LLC, formerly Vultron Incorporated’s manufacturing facility, located in Bad Axe Michigan opened for business.

      American Technical Fabricators has retained many of Vultron’s most experienced staff, and all of their manufacturing and fabricating equipment. We are now fully capable and will continue to offer quality products with improved customer service, and on time deliveries. Our product line focuses on high quality fabricated products including: Custom Fabrications, Sign Enclosures, Electrical Enclosures, Pole and Ground Mounted Control Cabinets, Injection Molded plastic parts, and Thermo Vacuum Formed plastic parts. In addition, we offer through-hole printed circuit board processing, soldering, coil winding, cabling, machine shop services, and assembly work.
